The skin is our biggest organ and has the greatest ability for absorption. You have to be conscious of the fact that whatever you use on your body will end up in your body.
Great things to look for in your skin products include nut/fruit butters & oils are always very emollient - shea and cocoa especially. Oils such as jojoba, hemp, castor, sesame & olive are also excellent for face, hair and body. We tend to shy away from oils in general (food, facial products) but our body needs oils in order to regulate its own production.
coconut oil isn’t just used for cooking, it has many properties that are nourishing, moisturizing, antifungal, antiviral and antimicrobial. It is great to use on skin and in hair as a deep conditioner. (Coconut oil is also more sustainable than the more widely used in soap/skin care "Palm Oil".)
